ISLAMABAD: The printing of bal
lot papers began on Sunday under the supervision of army for upcoming General Elec
tions 2018.
According to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) the bal
lot papers used in elec
tions are imported just to ensure the transparency of elections.
The bal
lot papers are being printed in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad.
A total of 210 million bal
lot papers will be printed for the elections, Rs2 billion is the estimated cost of the printing, which makes the elec
tions the most expensive in the electoral hist
ory of Pakistan.
To avoid the lack in bal
lot papers, the numb
er of bal
lot papers printed for a polling station will be more than the numb
er of required o
nes.
