Pak
istan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif Satur
day said that the performance of
the PML-N remained outstanding during the last five years and transparency, speed and honesty were the hallmark of his party’s government.
Addressing district and divisional coordinators of
the PML-N, Shehbaz said that the general elections were approaching near and all office-bearers of
the PML-N should continue working with dedication and hard work.
He called for across-the-board accountability to move Pak
istan forward instead of “selected accountability”. The chief minister said
the PML-N government had done extraordinary works during the last five years and the five year term of
the PML-N government was all about honesty, speed, and dedication.
He said that unprecedented results had been achieved under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif and the “history will remember our period as the golden era”.
“Power projects have been installed in Pak
istan with transparency at the fast pace and I have never seen such transparency and fast speed of development projects during my political career.”
He criticised his political opponents, especially PTI, and held them responsible for delay in development projects, particularly the Orange Line Train Project. He said accountability should be done across the board, because selected accountability could not move Pak
istan forward. He said that persons and officers who have done extraordinary work should be praised otherwise they would be discouraged.
“We saved an amount of Rs 75 billion in Orange Line Train Project. Our political opponents wasted the time of the people but PML-N did hard work for the service of the public. We did hard work for the sake of the development of Pak
istan and resolved the crisis of load shedding and
terrorism,” he claimed.
The chief minister said decisions taken under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif were producing positive results. He gave Pak
istan Army credit for success in the war on
terror. “We have to make Pak
istan a developed and prosperous country through our collective hard work, not through differences.”
Speaking on the occasion, PML office-bearers and lawmakers said that
the PML-N would again win the upcoming general elections. They said that development works carried out by Shehbaz speak about the performance and v
ision of
the PML-N leadership. They said historic measures had been taken in the fields of health and education.
